Visit to the Wood Pasture at Pamber Forest

The managers of Bucklebury Common recently undertook a 'fact finding' mission to the nearby Pamber Forest accompanied by the Graham, the Wildlife Trust site manager.

We were amazed by the impact of the cattle on the wood pasture - they have done a great job of creating lots of habitats which are now home to an abundance of wildlfe.

We would like to do the same at Bucklebury Common with a small herd of traditional cattle roaming on parts of the common. You can see from the photos the subtle changes that the cattle make, creating a diverse range of vegetation structure which is good for so much wildlife, letting more light in and encouraging different plants to grow.
