BrilL
Common
Brill Common is a 30ha local wildlife site in Buckinghamshire, owned and managed by Brill Parish Council.
During the time that I have been supporting the Parish Council I have:

Provided expert advice on the management of common land

Set up and chaired an advisory committee

Successfully applied for a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant to employ a ranger and enhance the common

Worked with stakeholders to write management plans and delivery schedules.

Greywell
Fen
Greywell Fen is a small SSSI in northeast Hampshire, owned by a local farmer.
The restoration of the fen was a complex project which involved:

Obtaining consents from the Enrivonment Agency, Forestry Commission, Local Tree Officer, Natual England and Heritage England.

Managing and supervising contractors to avoid damage to sensitive habitats.

Keeping to time and to budget

Liaising with the landowner to avoid disruption

ColstropE
Farm
Colstrope Farm is a wildlife-rich mixed farm in the Chilterns. I have been supporting the farmer with all aspects of ecological management:

Set up a monitoring programme to measure the impact of the farmer's efforts

Written a farm-wide biodiversity plan for Pasture for Life accreditation
- Successfully applied for Farming in the Protected Landscape (FiPL) grants to deliver innovative projects

EartH
Trust
The Earth Trust wanted to monitor the impact of a new agroforestry scheme at their farm in Oxfordshire.

I designed the programme to monitor reptiles, small mammals, botany, soils, birds and pollinating insects.
-
I delivered the first year's survey as a baseline.
-
I trained volunteers in all the survey techniques.
