Management plan for a closed landfill in West Berkshire

The situation:

The landfill operator was required to restore the capped landfill to species-rich grassland.

The task:

Produce a comprehensive and easy-to-implement management plan to assist the land owner with the site's restoration.​

My actions:

Met with the landfill operator to gain an understanding of their requirements and survey the site. Produced a detailed management plan with associated GIS mapping, timetables and approximate costs. Followed up with and on-site meeting to confirm satisfaction. Provided ongoing support and advice to land owner.

The result:

Closed landfill restored to species-rich grassland. Client complying with planning conditions.
